Screened "Call the Midwife"

Ciao Loves,
Last night I couldn't sleep and I actually found this intriguing show on Netflix. It was as if it was fate, it just appeared and I was drawn to it. I am so glad I couldn't sleep because it was a show well worth my time. Call The Midwife is an interesting depiction of East London in the late 1950s to early 1960s. If you enjoy that era, witty British humor, and a taste of the out of the ordinary this show is for you. The show is based off of Jennifer Worth's memoirs. The narrator of each show is a terrific addition to the story because she is able to reveal how the main character Nurse Lee is feeling. Toward the end of the series I think they are going to show Nurse Lee as her older self and I will be thrilled if this happens; it would really tie in the whole story line. The other three nurses that are introduced throughout series are very different from each other and have their own stories to unveil. Nurse Lee is a particularly intriguing character with an unresolved romance with a man who is married however, we have no indication of whether he was married in the time they were together. Not only do the nurses have their own personal lives to see to but, they also have patients who are very pregnant. As you can imagine the East end of London during that time period was filled with poverty and an overabundance of children however, they had never ending work as the midwives. Nurse Lee as coming from an upheld background was not used to this live style and is shocked by the things she sees. She learns that he most important role is not through judgment but, to put her patients needs before her and attend to their safety. This series is addicting and as I am writing I have already started the first episode of season two; I do not know what it is but, I am hooked. Oh, did I mention the nurses live in a nunnery and aren't nuns....
